Safeguarding and Child Protection

The Children and Young People team take the safeguarding of children and young people very seriously.
All adults and young people who are responsible for working with children and young people should be familiar with the Diocesan Safeguarding policies and guidance documents. These documents are available on the Diocesan website safeguarding pages.

We strongly recommend that all those who work with children and young people on behalf of their parish should attend the "Facing the Unthinkable" safeguarding training run by CCPAS on behalf of the Diocese and refresh their safeguarding training every three years. For details of forthcoming Diocesan safeguarding training opportunities, visit the Diocesan website.

The Diocesan Youth and Children Lead Adviser can also offer training to parishes with a specific focus on the practical implications of the Diocesan safeguarding policy and procedures for those who work with children and young people. In the first instance, please email Sarah Cabella
