Accompaniment
Spiritual Accompaniment/Spiritual DirectionSpiritual accompaniment encourages you to explore a close relationship with God in the midst of everyday life though meeting with somebody, a spiritual director or guide, to share your faith experience. You may come to spiritual accompaniment for a variety of reasons:
The Spiritual DirectorThe privilege and the responsibility of a spiritual director is to journey with you as you deepen your relationship with God. The journey takes place in the context of confidentiality. Most spiritual directors have extensive training and formation and are seasoned in the art of spiritual direction. You and your spiritual director will agree on a convenient location and time for meeting, usually once every 6-8 weeks for about an hour. Seek and find a Spiritual DirectorThe Diocese of Rochester has a network of experienced spiritual directors. If you are interested in exploring spiritual direction please contact the Rev Susanne Carlsson by phone 01342 850338 or by email susanne.carlsson@rochester.anglican.org or Rev Pat Percival by phone 02083029754 or by email mppercival@gmail.com Exploring a Calling to Spiritual AccompanimentThere is a need to support both ordained and lay ministers in a deeper awareness of the presence of God in their lives, a growing discernment of God's will, and a clear link with the greater mission of God in the world. Responding to this need, there is a Spiritual Accompaniment Programme offered jointly by Canterbury and Rochester Dioceses. The aim is to develop a group of both lay and ordained practitioners who are called to this ministry to become both confident and competent in their spiritual accompaniment of others. The next course will start in 2020For more info contact: Susanne Carlsson by phone 07795167603 or by email susanne.carlsson@rochester.anglican.org. |
