Praying for His Majesty The King

First published on: 6th February 2024

Following the announcement that His Majesty The King is being treated for cancer, Bishop Jonathan Gibbs, the Bishop of Rochester has shared a message of good wishes and an encouragement for people to join in prayer.

“I am sure we all share in the sense of shock over the news about King Charles being diagnosed with cancer and will want to join in sending our best wishes to His Majesty and assuring him of our prayers.

"King Charles’ openness about his condition has been welcomed by many and will hopefully encourage people to seek help and advice if they are concerned about their own condition.

"Please join me in praying for the King, the Queen, and the whole Royal Family at this time, and may I encourage all our parishes to use the prayer reproduced here as part of their intercessions.”
