First published on: 29th May 2019

Across the Diocese parishes are preparing a wealth of events to encourage and equip people to pray during Thy Kingdom Come.

Thy Kingdom Come is the global prayer initiative established by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, to encourage Christians to pray during the nine days between Ascension to Pentecost.

Just over 400 events have been listed on the Diocese's searchable prayer events calendar to help people find out what activities are taking place nearby, as well as to invite them to pray for these events.

A number of churches are opening for prayer, and there are also prayer walks, Messy Church activities, sessions using the Novena, ecumenical events, 24/7 prayer rooms and much more.

It will all culminate in a giant picnic in Rochester Cathedral on 8 June. Come and See is a free event which will include lots of fun prayer activities for the whole family, as well as displays from deaneries and schools across the Diocese.
