People gather outside for carols in Slade Green

Brrr, it may have been chilly but it was wonderful to see lots of outdoor carol services taking place around the Diocese over the last weekend of Advent.

Over 100 people of all ages gathered for the first carols under the tower at St Augustine's - Slade Green, which was organised by curate (an ordained minister still in training), the Rev Ethlyn Roy Johnson.

There's a special mention too for Eddie the donkey over at St Edmund's & St Alban's, Dartford, who helped lead their carols and refreshments service. According to the church's Facebook page, 'He is and always will be a total legend. All those carrots and not a single accident!'

Meanwhile, at  Hoo St Werburgh Parish Church over 120 people attended their Carols Round the Tree in the evening.
