General Synod members elected

The Diocese of Rochester is pleased to announce its new General Synod representatives. They will now serve in the next five-year term of The General Synod from 2021 - 2026. 

It follows the recent elections for representatives for both the House of Clergy and House of Laity, which was conducted by Civica.

The names of those who have been elected are listed below:

House of Clergy

  • The Rev Tim Edwards

House of Laity

  • Mrs Billy-jo O’Leary   
  • Mr Andrew Smith
  • Ms Jane Rosam
  • Mr Martin Sewell

The General Synod is the national assembly of the Church of England. 

It considers and approves legislation affecting the whole of the Church of England, formulates new forms of worship, debates matters of national and international importance, and approves the annual budget for the work of the Church at the national level.
