Full-time Generous Giving Adviser appointed

First published on: 21st June 2021

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Liz Mullins as our next Giving Advisor which will take effect from Thursday, 1 July 2021. This is a post that is 50% funded by the Archbishop’s Council over five years.

Liz has been Stewardship and Funding Adviser for the Diocese of Canterbury since March 2006, working closely with parishes to encourage generous giving.  Previously, she worked in religious publishing as Commissioning Editor for SPCK, and was Religious Marketing Manager at Cassell plc.

Liz is no stranger to the Diocese of Rochester.  She has delivered several training events on best giving practice and legacy giving over the last two or three years, and ran stewardship campaigns in the Diocese between 2006 and 2008.

She is a member of the PCC of her church in Faversham, where she lives with her husband, a university lecturer.

Liz says:

I have been seconded to the Diocese of Rochester for the last year, on a part time basis, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here.  I am really looking forward to getting to know the Diocese and its people better and supporting parishes in encouraging people to lead generous lives.’

Matthew Girt, Diocesan Secretary, says:

‘We have been without a Generous Giving Adviser to support parishes for the last four years. I am delighted that following an open application process, and with the help of a generous grant from the Church Commissioners, we are now able to appoint her full-time. She brings a wealth of experience and I am sure will make a significant impact.’
