Anthony Glockling: New Safeguarding Adviser

First published on: 16th September 2021

Thank you for welcoming me into the Diocese.

My name is Anthony, and I joined the Diocesan Safeguarding Team in July 2021.

At the age of fifty it’s exciting to be the new person again. I make a mean cup of coffee, but my tea does need some practice.

I am passionate about my work and have built up a good knowledge of Safeguarding concerns and most importantly helping people.I retired from the Metropolitan Police Service in April 2021 having spent the past 12 years working in various roles committed to Safeguarding.

Outside of work I try to keep fit by playing five-aside football. I have even been known to break into a sprint on occasions. However, my pace is deceptive. I am even slower than I look!

My fiancé and I are keen travellers and love to explore new places.

Between us we have four amazing children. Two boys and two girls. So that kind of makes us the ‘Brady Bunch’ for those of an age that can remember that children’s programme.

It is a privilege to work for the Diocese and I am looking forward to meeting you all in the future.
