Today's LGBTQ Challenge
5th February 2021
20:00- 21:45
Our speaker Dr Lori Beth Bisbey came to Sevenoaks last year to deliver this talk and she made a strong connection with many people in the audience. I am delighted that Dr Bisbey has agreed to talk to us again.

Most people are aware that the LGBTQ community is a fixture in modern life and hence it needs to be understood so that we can react appropriately. The talk is aimed at unravelling the complexities of this subject and answering the questions held by many of us – such as simple definitions to the difficulties of how to educate our young and the impact of gender dysphoria on the existing sex discrimination law.

Dr Bisbey is a psychologist and experienced practitioner who helps her clients understand sexuality and the gender issues facing them and their families. She has been in private practice in the UK since 1991 and she travels the world speaking to groups on these topics and she hosts a weekly online radio show - The A to Z of Sex – as well as being a prolific writer, including two books!

The “Food for Thought” talks are designed to offer the audience a clear, unbiased and accurate description of the subject matter and then allow the audience an opportunity to discuss the subject in small groups, leading to feedback in plenary of each group’s consensus view. A successful outcome to the evening would be that the audience are satisfied that they have learned something (or had previous knowledge affirmed) and stimulated to act upon what they have heard.
