Kings Hill

Kings Hill, near West Malling, is a large housing development which is entering its third major phase of building. The development brings significant opportunities for the Church. In September 2015 the congregation’s first full time Priest-Missioner began work. Members of the growing St Gabriel’s Church currently worship and engage in community activities a local school hall

The current phase of development includes provision for a place of worship with a site earmarked for use in the heart of the community. Following approval of a strategic project by Bishop’s Council in January 2016 the Strategy and Implementation project team, in conjunction with the incumbent, are undertaking the work necessary to secure site transfer and deliver a planning application and tender document ready for submission and issue. This work, involving consultation and communication with a wide range of stakeholders, involves exploring the potential for an interim building to meet current congregation and community needs whilst approvals for a permanent church and community facility are secured.

The growing church of St Gabriel’s Church currently worship in a local school, and members continue to find new ways to reach and serve the community. Their impact and relationship building has begun to make real inroads with the community of Kings Hill.
