Bag of Love for schools

Starting Reception class can be just as nerve-wracking for the parents as for the children!

The Coxheath Area Branch of the Rochester Diocese Mothers’ Union, have made ‘Bags of Love’ for the new Reception children’s parents/carers of the local church school.

Lesley Marsh, Vice President of the Tonbridge Archdeaconry Mothers' Union said:

"We wanted to show the parents that we are thinking and praying for them as their child takes an important step in their life, particularly during this Coronavirus pandemic.

"The handmade bags contain a prayer for the parents/carers of the children, along with a child’s prayer.

"We invite them to take a quiet moment for themselves by providing a sachet of tea and coffee and a chocolate biscuit, with a packet of tissues should they be needed."

Information was also included about the Mothers' Union and what it does.

The bags were given to the Reception teacher a week before school started so that they could stored and shared safely.

We sure they were greatly appreciated by all who received them.
