Interfaith dialogue

InterfaithOn Sunday 23 March the Revd Angela King, Priest in Charge of St Andrew’s Bromley, accompanied by four members of the church, was invited to join Imam Faiz Ahmad at the Tahir Mosque, Verdant Lane, Hither Green for a symposium organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association on ‘Promoting Family Values in our Society’.

Her 15 minute talk on Family Values from a Christian perspective was followed by a talk by Imam Faiz from the Muslim point of view.  The vote of thanks was given by Mr Gerald Rose, secular leader of Catford  Orthodox Synagogue and, after discussion, the afternoon concluded with a delicious curry cooked on the spot in the Mosque kitchen by two volunteer chefs.  Revd Angela said, ‘ This was not our first venture into interfaith relationships as we had previously invited the Imam to speak to us at St Andrew’s on Interfaith Sunday last year so I was very pleased to receive a return invitation.   We hope to maintain this fruitful contact.’
