Changes to the Diocesan Safeguarding Team

There are some changes afoot in the Safeguarding Team. Janice Keen, retires at the end of December 2019, as Bishop’s Adviser for Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults.

We wish her an enjoyable retirement, and thank her for the significant difference she has made to safeguarding in the Diocese since she started in 2010.

Greg Barry will now manage the team as Lead Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser, he continues to also work as the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer. Greg will continue to be responsible for training in addition to undertaking case work and policy.

Claire Langridge, joined the team in September as Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser (DSA) and leads on DBS, safer recruitment, safer working practices, spiritual abuse and the supervision of offenders who attend our churches. An advert will be published for a second DSA in early 2020.
