We have ninety schools, five of which are secondary: four comprehensive and one grammar. We encourage all of them to be definite Church of England institutions. God is honoured and worshipped in our schools in accordance with their Church of England character.

The Local Authority decides admission arrangements for Voluntary Controlled Schools, as does the governing body for Voluntary Aided schools. The criteria for admission vary widely.

We appoint church governors for our schools, advise on who to appoint as Head Teachers, organise and carry out inspections of schools’ Christian character, train teachers and governors and manage building projects for the governing bodies of Voluntary Aided schools.
