The Deaneries - Lay Chairs

As the elected Chair of the House of Laity of the Deanery Synod, the Lay Chair, along with the Area/Rural Dean, has responsibility for leadership in the Deanery.

The Lay Chair ensures that the contribution of the laity to the mission of the Church within the Deanery is exercised effectively. The role of Lay Chair is a fine balance between providing a measure of leadership and being the elected senior local lay representative of the Church.
