A mission week or weekend can help a parish church or a group of churches to focus some energy in a variety of outreach activities, with the help of a team of enthusiastic and skilled volunteers drawn from around the Diocese.

Members of the mission team would include Diocesan Evangelists, Clergy, Youth Workers, Readers and others who have experience and skills in apologetics, evangelistic preaching, and various evangelistic activities such as door-to-door visiting, street evangelism, sketchboard, drama, and the healing ministry.

Activities could include Servant Evangelism, eg a community barbeque or a Fun Day which might include a tug-of-war contest to which local pubs are invited to field a team; door-to-door visiting with information about the church or a gift from the church; healing in the streets; street evangelism; school assemblies with an invitation to Messy Church; a film night; a curry night; a ladies' pamper evening or a chocolate tasting party; a men’s breakfast with a talk by one or more of the team members; a “Pints of View” evening in a local pub; a cheese and wine evening; a “Songs of Praise” service; an opportunity to have a go at bell ringing or abseiling down the church tower. The possibilities are only limited by our imagination!
