What is a Quiet Day?
A quiet day is a way of going on retreat for one day. It can be a gentle introduction for newcomers to retreats but also a time to stop and be refreshed for those who have more experience. You can go on a quiet day with a group and then it usually starts at 10 and finishes at 4, but it is also possible to spend a day in a retreat house on your own. If you join a group quiet day there will be input by a leader on the theme of the day and opportunity to spend time on your own in silent refection.
You may go on a Quiet Day for a variety of reasons:
- A wish for some quiet time but are limited for time.
- A need some time for reflection away from work or family.
- A desire to explore your spiritual life and deepen your relationship with God but do not know where to start.
- A longing to know more about prayer.
