Baby Jesus Rocks

Members from St Francis Church in Strood have been busy painting pebbles to look like the baby Jesus, which will be left around the parish for people to discover.

On the back of each rock is written #StFrancisRocks. People can then follow the discovery of each baby-shaped stone by following #StFrancisRocks on Twitter, and through the St Francis Church facebook page.

It’s a festive take on the phenomena Love Rocks! that has captured the imagination of communities, including around Medway.

Rev Sharon Copestake, vicar at St. Francis said that they particularly hoped to use them as a creative way to reach out to the nearby new housing estate:

“Finding the Baby Jesus is what we hope everyone will do over the Christmas time. With #StFrancisRocks people will literally discover the meaning of Christmas!”

If people are fortunate enough to find one of the rocks, they are invited to bring it to the Crib Service on Christmas Eve where they will also receive a small gift of chocolate.
